Forest Lake

February 9, 2009: Forest Lake is a small lake fed by Hickory Creek in Denton. It is located right next to Wiggly Field, the dog park in Denton where Leslie and I take Callie all the time. The park side of the lake is completely wooded, and there are only a few places where the trails break through to the water. People take their dogs here all the time, and so the trails are well defined, but very grown over. I can only imagine it will get worse as it warms up and the vegetation begins to grow thick again. The bugs are for sure gonna suck, and so this place might be un-fishable come summertime. Anyway, the first time I went out to Forest Lake, I fished right over near the first place that the trail meets the lake. People often bring their dogs to this spot so they can go swimming. I got this little LMB after about and hour, and it was my first ever fish caught on a worm! Got him on a Watermelon and red Wave Tiki Stick. WOW! I'm buying stock in Wave Worms man. Go MOLPO! I caught him right in front of the weed beds, and he was all I got that day.
